Better guidance through identity verification

A new progress indicator is designed to help people understand where they are in the identity verification process. Updated instructions and visual explanations also make it easier to compare and select multi-factor authentication methods.

A new look. The same trusted Login.gov.

Login.gov is a service of the U.S. General Services Administration. We protect your Login.gov account, safeguard your personal information, and provide secure access to participating government services.

  • Same account — Your Login.gov email address, password, and authentication methods continue to work.
  • Same destination — You will still return to the government agency or service you were trying to access after signing in or verifying your identity.
  • Same protections — Login.gov’s security, privacy, identity, and accessibility requirements continue to apply.
  • No action required — You do not need to create a new account because the interface looks different.
